All My Sons
Set in a middle-American town after world war II. Arthurs Miller's, All My Sons tells the story of the Keller family. Joe Keller, a succesful factory owner. His wife, Kate refuses to accept the fact that their son Larry, a pilot who has been missing for three years, is dead. Their living son Chris, has summoned Larry's fiancee, Ann Deever, in hopes of proposing to her. Until her brother, George arrives and long lost secrets have come out. All havic breaks loose, with a climatic ending to be. It may scare/bore some of the younger children. Your older children may even enjoy themselves, either they have just read Arthur Miller's "The Crucible" in school or just a chance to see some famous people on stage. All My Sons is a good one to introduce your child to Broadway.

HAIRSPRAY
About a perky plus-size girl named Tracy Turnblad. Tracy wants to follow her dreams and become a regular on Maryland's hit tv show "The Corny Collins Show. Only to be rejected the first time by the ever so conniving Velma von Tussle and her daughter Amber von Tussle. Tracy ends up being the champion dancer at the Baltimore Civil Rights Movement. This musical is set in the 1960s, back when racism still roamed the earth. Tracy dreams one day that the show will intergrate blacks and whites. Tracy along with her would be love, Link Larkin, her ditzy best friend, Penny Pingleton, and we can't forget about her larger than life mother, Edna Turnblad. Together they will open peoples minds and peoples hearts. Tracy is a true inspiration. Your young children probably won't understand the story line, but they will absoltely love the music!

West Side Story
A modern tale of Romeo and Juliet, but only to take place in the bustling streets of the great NYC. The musical is set during New Yorks heyday, the 1950s. Maria, who's brother Bernardo is the leader of the gang called The Jets, meets tony, who's best friend is the leader of the rival gang which was the Sharks. Maria and Tony fall in love, and no one can stop them. Violence insues. Maria sends Tony down to where the violence ensues, hoping he can end this rivalry. Only to succumbed to getting stabbed in the back by Bernardo, literally stabbed in the stabbed in the back. Maria is devastated. I would suggest that you bring your older children(if any). It'll bring back some nolstalgia from the gold ol' days! Although, the musical is entertaining, it is not suitable for little children.
13
13 is about 13 individuals lives. At home struggles and just plain being a teenager. Although, it mainly focuses on a young boy moves from New York to Indiana after a nasty divorce. His name is Evan, he is now living with his mother. With his bar mitzfa on the way, he has no guest list, no nothing. Then he meets the "in crowd" you know the jock, the prep, the miss goodie-two shoes, the nerd, the goth, and the quiet one. This musical refers to more modern technology like cell phones, iPods, and Youtube. This is PG rated. This is about climbing up the social ladder in high school. Don't take the toddlers, but i'm sure your older children would like the modern day references.
